İzofalt Garden

İzofalt Garden

Izofalt Garden is a waterproofing membrane made from SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) modified bitumen with a glass mat or polyester felt carrier. Both the top and bottom surfaces are coated with PE (polyethylene) film. It exhibits high elastic properties and is applied using torch-on or hot asphalt

Usage Areas

It is used as a waterproofing material in the foundations and basement walls of buildings, as a waterproofing material in dry or damp details such as terraces, roofs, kitchens, bathrooms, etc., as a primer under bituminous coatings, as a primer material and binder in applications such as glass mat, hessian, etc., and to prevent the water absorption and increase adhesion in mortars and renders created with cement and/or fine sand. It is also used to prevent the flexibility and distortion of construction molds and as a mold release agent

Surface Preparation

The surface to be applied must be cleaned of dust, dirt, rust, and oil, and loose particles should be scraped off. Sharp edges and corners should be rounded

Application Methods

If the surfaces where insulation will be applied are concrete, they should be finished with a wooden trowel-surfaced slope screed, clean, and dry. Before the application of the Izofalt water insulation membrane, Garden series, a bituminous solution primer IZK-3000 or bituminous emulsion membrane primer should be applied to the surface, and it should be allowed to dry. Starting from the lowest point of the roof and perpendicular to the slope, the application of the Izofalt water insulation membrane, Garden series, begins. The Izofalt water insulation membrane, Garden series, is applied to the surface by heating it with a torch or by pouring hot asphalt in front of it. There must be staggering between the rows. For short edge overlaps of 1 m of the membrane, a 10 cm allowance should be left, and for long edge overlaps, a 15 cm allowance should be left, ensuring that the joints are securely glued. Staggering of 50 cm on the short side and 5 m on the long side should also be done between the layers

Storage

The rolls of Izofalt water insulation membrane, Garden series, should be stored indoors and upright in a vertical position. If the rolls need to be stored outdoors for an extended period, they should be covered to protect them from sunlight. If the rolls are to be stacked without pallets, they should not be placed on top of each other. Storage should be done vertically on a flat surface in enclosed spaces
