İzofalt

İzofalt

It is a waterproofing membrane made of fiberglass mesh and polyester felt carrier, modified bitumen with APP (Atactic Polypropylene), coated with PE (polyethylene) film on the bottom surface, and also coated with PE (polyethylene) film on the top surface. It exhibits high plastomeric properties and is applied with torch-on (flame) or hot asphalt for water insulation

Usage Areas

Izofalt waterproofing membrane Izofalt series is used to achieve water and moisture impermeability in terrace roofs, sloped concrete roofs, curtain walls, and foundations. It can be used as both the bottom and top layer for insulation in light metal roofs or prefabricated roofs. Designed for temperate climates, it can be used as the bottom, middle, and top layer in waterproofing applications. It is suitable for wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, as well as foundations with pressurized or non-pressurized underground or surface water

Surface Preparation

Izofalt waterproofing membrane Izofalt series application surface should be cleaned from dust, dirt, rust, and oil, and loose parts should be scraped off. Depending on the surface to be applied, if necessary, Izofalt spreading-based waterproofing material membrane primer should be applied to the surface where the application will be made, and it should be allowed to dry completely.

Application Methods

If the surfaces to be insulated are concrete, they should be finished with a sloping mortar using a wooden float, and they must be clean and dry. Before the application of the Izofalt waterproofing membrane Izofalt series, the surface should be primed with bitumen solution primer IZK-3000 or bitumen emulsion membrane primer, and it should be allowed to dry. Starting from the lowest part (lowest elevation) of the roof and perpendicular to the slope, the application of the Izofalt waterproofing membrane Izofalt series begins. Izofalt waterproofing membrane Izofalt series is applied to the surface by heating it with a torch or by pouring hot asphalt in front of it. There must be staggered joints between rows. In short edge overlaps of the membrane (1 m), leave a 10 cm overlap, and in long edge overlaps, leave a 15 cm overlap, and the joint areas should be well bonded. Staggering should also be done between layers, with a 50 cm stagger on the short side and a 5 m stagger on the long side

Storage

Izofalt waterproofing membrane Izofalt series rolls should be stored indoors, covered, and in an upright position. If the rolls need to be stored outdoors for an extended period, they should be covered to protect them from sunlight. If the rolls are stacked without pallets, they should not be placed on top of each other. They should be stored vertically on a flat surface and in enclosed spaces.
