Bitümser

Bitümser

It is a waterproofing membrane made of APP (Atactic Polypropylene) modified bitumen with a carrier of glass veil or polyester felt, and its upper and lower surfaces are coated with PE (polyethylene) film. It exhibits high plastomeric properties and is applied with a torch or hot asphalt.

Usage Areas

Izofalt waterproofing membrane Bitümser series is used to achieve water and moisture impermeability in terrace roofs, sloped concrete roofs, curtain walls, and foundations. It can be used as an underlayer for lightweight metal roofs or prefab roofs. Designed for temperate climates, it can be used as an underlayer in water insulation for both lower and middle layers. It is suitable for areas with wet environments such as bathrooms and kitchens, as well as foundations with pressurized or unpressurized underground or surface water

Surface Preparation

Izofalt waterproofing membrane Bitümser series application surface should be cleaned from dust, dirt, rust, and oil, and loose parts should be scraped off. Depending on the surface to be applied, if necessary, Izofalt spreading-based waterproofing material membrane primer should be applied to the surface where the application will be made, and it should be allowed to dry completely.

Application Methods

If the surface to be insulated is concrete, it should be finished with a sloped screed using a wooden float, clean, and dry. Before the application of Izofalt waterproofing membrane Bitümser series, the surface should be coated with bituminous solution primer IZK-3000 or bituminous emulsion membrane primer, and it should be allowed to dry. At the lowest part of the roof (lowest elevation) and perpendicular to the slope, the application of Izofalt waterproofing membrane Bitümser series begins. Izofalt waterproofing membrane Bitümser series is applied to the surface by heating it with a roofing torch or by pouring hot asphalt in front of it. Shifting must be done between rows. For short edge overlaps of the membrane, 10 cm overlap should be left, and for long edge overlaps, 15 cm overlap should be left, and the joint areas should be thoroughly sealed. Between layers, a stagger of 50 cm on the short edge and 5 m on the long edge should be applied

Storage

Izofalt waterproofing membrane Bitümser series rolls should be stored indoors, in a vertical position, and in a covered space. If the rolls need to be stored outdoors for an extended period, they should be covered to protect them from sunlight. If the rolls are to be stacked without pallets, they should not be placed on top of each other. They should be stored vertically on a flat surface in enclosed spaces.
