Izofalt Oskar Shingle is a final layer roofing membrane made of oxidized bitumen, with mineral stone particles on the top surface, a tear and break-resistant fiberglass mat in the middle, and a rubberized asphalt layer on the bottom surface for adhesion to the applied surface. It comes in various shapes and sizes
steel construction roofs, wooden construction roofs, sloped concrete roofs, pergolas, domes, canopies, or modern architectural roofs
Shingle is a flexible roofing material that covers an area of approximately 3 m² per package. Before applying shingles to the roof, a sturdy framework is first created from metal or wood. This framework should be robust enough to bear the weight of a person in case any repairs need to be made to the roof. It can be constructed from 4x4, 5x5, or 10x10 lumber. Compressed wood panels (OSB) are then screwed onto this framework. The assembly of the framework should be designed to allow the OSB to be screwed at the edges and joints where it will be applied. Once the OSB assembly is completed, if desired, underlayment for insulation can be laid on top. These underlayments can be mounted on the OSB by burning with a torch, nailing, or hammering. However, in some structures, underlayment is not preferred due to its cost. Shingles are laid starting from the edges, either on the OSB or the underlayment. The edges can be laid slightly outside, extending into the void. Each shingle should overlap the previous one. Shingles are attached by nailing with shingle nails or by heating at their designated places. Bitumen mastic can be used to secure the edges of shingle sheets. Shingles are fastened with galvanized, wide-headed special nails to wooden roofs with a slope of 30% or more. In cases of low slopes or smooth-surfaced concrete roofs, they are applied in conjunction with bituminous membranes for insulation. The installation is easy and fast. For special details such as wall bases, ridges, and inclined sections in shingle roofing, no additional materials like zinc or sheet metal are required. These roofs must be ventilated according to the rules of cold roof construction. Shingle roofing provides a consistent color and appearance throughout since it is finished with a single material
Shingle packages should not be stacked more than 17 packages on top of each other. They should be stored in a dry and cool place, away from direct heat sources. Before use, packages can be slightly bent for easy separation of the shingles. A second pallet should not be placed on top of the pallet
It easily adapts to any type of roof. It can be adapted to complex roof forms, curved surfaces such as domes and vaults. With its textured surface and attractive colors, it is aesthetic. It is easy and quick to apply. It is waterproof, and its segmented and flexible structure prevents cracking in temperature differences, making it durable. It can be walked on comfortably. It does not require different materials for details such as ridges, inclined sections, or wall-chimney bases; the roof appearance is completed with a single material. With an approximate weight of 10 kg/m², it is a lightweight material that imposes very little load on the roof structure
